For Dalton Grice, the songs have always come from somewhere real.

Raised in Crosby, Texas, just outside of Houston, Dalton grew up surrounded by music and the kind of work ethic that doesn't leave much room for shortcuts. He picked up the guitar seriously around the age of twelve, and by fifteen, he was already doing what many artists spend years trying to figure out - getting onstage. In his first year performing live, he played more than 120 shows, building his sound the old-fashioned way: one room, one crowd, and one song at a time.

Blending Texas country, Americana, and rock & roll, Dalton has developed a sound built around honest songwriting and songs that aren't afraid to carry a little weight. His music lives somewhere between a packed Texas dance hall and a long drive home after midnight - sometimes loud, sometimes stripped down, but always rooted in the story.

His early releases marked the beginning of that process, capturing a young artist still discovering exactly what he wanted to say and how he wanted to say it. But years spent onstage, behind a guitar, and writing songs have continued to reshape that sound - particularly over the last year, as Dalton's songwriting and guitar playing have pushed his music into new territory.

That evolution is now leading toward his debut album. Still rooted in the Texas music that raised him, the new project reaches further into rock & roll without abandoning the country foundation underneath it. It's not an attempt to trade one genre for another. It's the sound of an artist becoming less concerned with where the lines are drawn in the first place.

That same approach carries onto the stage. Years of relentless live performing have taken Dalton from hometown bars and acoustic rooms to stages across Texas and beyond. In May 2026, he brought his full band to the legendary Gruene Hall for the first time - another step in a career that has been built much more through miles traveled and shows played than overnight success.

At the center of it all, though, is still the songwriting. Dalton writes about life as he sees it: love, loss, ambition, mistakes, and the things people don't always know how to say out loud. His songs can move from introspective storytelling to straight-ahead Texas honky-tonk to something much louder without losing the thing that ties them together - they come from somewhere personal.

However, Dalton Grice is still at the beginning of the story. There are more records to make, more miles to drive, and a whole lot more stages to play. He's in no hurry to pretend he's already arrived.
